26 Sep. 2025 Judy and Jack Ferreri will tell us about their May Provence trip Sep. 26, 2025 12:12 p.m. - 1:15 p.m. Provence in the Spring Jack and Judy spent twelve days in mid-May touring southern France. Flying into Paris for two days, they took the high-speed train to Avignon and then proceeded east and south along the coast. Visited a dozen cities and gorgeous villages. They flew out of Nice on the return.

We facilitate a mentorship program that connects students with a local Rotarian who has similar career goals, professional development, skills, or studied something similar in school, who can help the students learn and progress in any way that they see fit.

He has been a member of Madison South Rotary since 1989 and has served as the District 6250 Polio Eradication Chair for the past 25 years. He is a Level 3 Major Donor to the Rotary Foundation. In 2008 Randy was one of 6 individuals in the United States to receive the “Service For A Polio Free World Award” from the President of the Rotary Foundation. 12 Dec. 2025 Mike Leckrone, Introduced to the club by Jim Olmsted. When Mike Leckrone became director of the Wisconsin Marching Band, interest in the program was low. By creating a new, demanding marching style, “stop at the top”, a pre-game run on, and the development of the band’s “fifth quarter” post-game performances, he emphasized showmanship and turned the program around. Mike will share an overview, including funny anecdotes and stories, regarding the evolution of “The greatest band in the land.” He will discuss his history as an educator, leader and motivator, and explain the journey of development of the UW Spring Band Concert from a modest performance for 400 loyal fans in 1975, to a three night extravaganza drawing in more than 35,000 people. Located on the north shore of Lake Mendota, Governor Nelson State Park just celebrated it’s 50th anniversary. Named for a former senator, governor and “father of earth day,” this is one of the few urban state parks in Wisconsin. Drew will highlight the features of the park and what the Friends are planning for visitors like you! She’s a business owner, a teacher, a criminal justice reformer, a philanthropist, a patron of the arts, and a licensed pilot. The latter has not only given her an amusing moniker — The Pink Pilot — it has prompted her to write a new book about the joy of flying: Into the Wind, Above the Clouds: Love at First Flight. Neil Van Dine is the founder of Haiti Outreach and has worked in Haiti since 1989. He focuses on community-led water and sanitation systems that emphasize local leadership, accountability, and long-term sustainability.
