LAST WEEKS MEETING: 

October 14 - Our own Dana Monogue, Superintendent of the Middleton School System discussed the upcoming Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District referendum. There was an on-site luncheon at the brand-new Pope Elementary School, next door to the Pope Farm where we often picnic. Program by Kathy Roberg.

October 21 -  Dean Ryerson just got back from his trip to Europe and will present his most interesting visit to Poland on the Friendship Exchange Program. DO NOT MISS THIS ONE.& BRING A GUEST.

UPCOMING PROGRAMS:

October 28 - Bev Davis will attempt to present her program again which was canceled on June 10, Bev is an author, chaplain, and anti-bullying expert has degrees in Master Divinity from McCormick Theological Seminary and is a certified Dementia Practitioner. She has spoken to audiences throughout Wisconsin and the Midwest about anti-bullying from first-hand experience being bullied as a young person growing up in Chicago. Program by Jim Olmsted

November 4  - "GETTING TO KNOW YOU PROGRAM". This time Greg Armstrong, Mike Wenkman and Rick Schaller will have 10 minutes each to give a short talk about themselves, their livelihood, their family and their hobbies. More "GETTING TO KNOW YOU" programs to follow.

November 11 - Lunch will be served at Lussier Community Center at 555 Gammon Rd., just north of Jefferson Middle School where Diana Shinall, executive director of the Lussier Building Complex, will be our orator. Lussier Community Center has been an organization supported since the beginning by both Madison West Rotary and Madison West Town Middleton Rotary. Over the last 8 years we have made annual contributions to the Buffet Scholars program and for the last 4 years have made contributions to the K-12 after school program. In addition, we have annually made contributions to the Food Pantry in both cash and donated food items. We also contributed to their start up radio station. Program by John Gerold. 

November 18 - Judy Reed and Jane Scharer, founders of the (Liberian Assistance Program) in 2008 and have been chair and vice chair for all these years. They have spoken to the Madison West Rotary a number of times will bring us up to date for our NEW Madison West Middleton Rotary Club which provides scholarships for girls at the Obama School in Liberia. Program by Peter Overton.

November 25 - No meeting Thanksgiving

December 2 - GETTING TO KNOW YOU SERIES WITH THE MERGER OF OUR 2 CLUBS, Deb Dieter, Kitty Tyson and Denny Zitnak will tell you about themselves, their family, their employment, their hobbies and other interesting quirks all within a 10 minute frame each. Don't miss this interesting program, YOU MAY BE NEXT.

December 9 - Nancy Comello, DNP, CNM, RN will tell us about Educating Indigenous Midwives and Birth Attendants, a Rotary Global Grant partnership between Madison West Towne Middleton Rotary Club and Rotary Club Las Américas Ciudad de Guatemala. Why it took over 2 years to complete  and how it is currently impacting the hands-on education of indigenous Guatemalan midwives by the trainers funded and equipped through the Global Grant. Program by Mary Cobb Dunn.

December 16 - After a career in medicine, Dr. David Lonsdorf decided to run for local office during the pandemic. He was elected to the Town Board of Verona and quickly found out that things weren't what he expected. We will find out what he didn't expect during his presentation. Program by Jack Ferreri

December 23 - No meeting Christmas
