Our first Saturday morning bike ride of the season for Team McAdow happened last Saturday, April 23rd.

This ride, starting at the Odana Hills Golf Course, took us through the UW Arboretum, then on the Wingra Creek Path to Olin Park, around Monona Bay, and back on the Southwest Path – about 1-1/2 hours. Some extended the ride for a few extra miles.

Our Saturday rides are typically 10-to-15-mile loop rides (versus out-and-back), on off-road bike trails as much as possible, away from noisy highways, and often include, as the weather improves, outdoor coffee/bakery stops. We have a great selection of bike routes in Madison and Dane County (and sometimes beyond).

We welcome other family members and friends to join us on our Saturday rides. We are very sad to say that we will be missing Carol McAdow on our rides this year.

McAdow Miles has been a great fundraiser for our Rotary Foundation (with no expense) for many years. In recent years we haven’t been asking for per-mile pledges, but we encourage our riders, other Club members and non-Rotarians to make annual contributions to this event. Perhaps more than anything, it’s an opportunity for us to spend time to together doing what we enjoy.

If you would like to join us, or for more information, please email or call John Olsen, at johno.olsen@gmail.com, 608-220-2826. We try to email a ride plan to our riders on Thursday or Friday each week.
