“Helping You to Be Healthier and Enjoy Life More” was the mantra of Janet’s presentation on Friday. She spoke to us of the six dimensions of wellness: social, occupational, physical, intellectual, spiritual, and emotional. Her consultancy on wellness is Blue Jewel Coaching. She had us do some physical exercises and answer group questions by moving about the room. She pointed out that happy, healthy employees are a way to generate high productivity. Workplace culture plays a big role in creating a flourishing wellness environment. And the contemporary workplace … and today’s younger workers … aren’t comfortable with a ‘one size fits all’ approach to dealing with employees.

Dennis Zitnak was approved as a new member at the March Board Meeting held on March 21, 2017. His sponsor is Barry Pace.
Dennis is a Minnesota licensed pharmacist with a forty-two year career in retail pharmacy as well as experience in hospital pharmacy. He earned a B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of Minnesota.

Derek announced that the Madison West Towne-Middleton Rotary Foundation, Inc will match dollar for dollar up to $1,000 all donations made by Rotary Club of Madison West Towne-Middleton members to the Claire Fung Memorial Fund. The Memorial Fund was created to support the young twin sons of Claire Fung, Bill Mowbray's daughter, who passed away suddenly a few weeks ago.
Member donations to the Fund can be made in one of two ways:
New Donations: Bring cash or checks made payable to the Madison West Towne-Middleton Rotary Foundation to any Club meeting in March and give the check to Derek Moehring, Dean Ryerson or Ruth Domack.
Donations Already Made: Many Club members have already made a donation to the Memorial Fund via the website that was set up to accept donations on-line. If you made a donation using this website, please let Derek, Dean or Ruth know the amount of your donation and that amount will be counted toward the $1,000 match.,

Attached are some old pictures from a visit by an Orphan Train team to Bulgarian orphanages in 2000. Included in the pictures are Jeannine Desautels and Glenn Koepp. The big group picture is with the Rotary Club of Svishtov. This particular Rotary Club is considered a "conductor on the Orphan Train Project" and has been very instrumental in carrying out several projects involving children's homes in Bulgaria, often adding to whatever has been given by people from the United States. At the time of this visit, Jeannine and her husband Ed Desautels were living in Bulgaria, where the latter was teaching at the American University in Blagrovad.
In recent years, the Rotary Club of Svishtov and Orphan Train Intermediary Mitko Nenkov worked with us in implementing purchases made possible by donations from Svein Morner's Sustainable Engineering group to the Madison West Towne-Middleton Rotary Foundation. These gifts, made over several years, have made life better for the residents of children's homes at Ilakov Rut and Ovcha Mogila, as well as a transitional home.
I am looking for drivers for Best (Rotary Youth Exchange student) to get him to and from school/Rotary meetings. If you can help out with any of these dates please let me know ASAP. I now have to inform the school as to when he will be leaving for the meetings and it is helpful to let them know who will be picking him up and bringing him back. Thanks so much!
If you are volunteering with youth (one-on-one)? Mentoring, Youth Exchange, RYLA, Academic Decathlon, High School Business Plans, Etc... You must have an annual background check completed. This only applies if you are working with youth one-on-one. If you are in a group more than 2 people, you don't need a background check.
