Are volunteering with youth (one-on-one)?  Mentoring, Youth Exchange, RYLA, Academic Decathlon, High School Business Plans, Etc...

If YES, you need to have an annual background check completed.  CLICK HERE for more details about how to get your background check completed.  This only applies if you are working with youth one-on-one.  If you are in a group more than 2 people, you don't need a background check.

Seasons Greetings!

This Friday’s Club meeting is the last one in 2015. We won’t be meeting again until Friday, January 8, 2016. You won’t want to miss this Friday’s Club meeting as a special Holiday program will be presented by Stoughton High School’s Madrigal Singers. On January 8, 2016, our speaker will be Justice Rebecca Bradley of the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

You will all experience an especially WARM WELCOME this Friday when you attend the Club meeting as our Greeters will no longer be selling raffle tickets, but instead will be shaking your hand and providing you with a Warm Welcome. When I first jointed the Club back in 1998, the two greeters provided each member, guest and visiting Rotarian with a very warm welcome along with a handshake. On Tuesday, December 15th, the Board of Directors voted to have the Greeters focus on “Greeting” and another individual will be selling raffle tickets (near the Assistant Treasurer’s table). The person selling raffle tickets will be a new weekly assignment that members will be asked to fill. Yes, this is an additional position to fill each week; however, I would ask that you please consider this change as an Opportunity, not a burden. Our new Membership Committee, headed by Steve Aune, will be focusing on growing our membership as well as retaining existing members. Having our Greeters focus on greeting is a great way to welcome every existing Club member as well as every potential new Club member.

Have a GREAT Holiday Season.

Sincerely,

Derek E. Moehring, President
Rotary Club of Madison West Towne-Middleton

Thank You Dick Meister
Last Friday, Dick Meister, charter member of our club, announced he and wife Ellen are establishing a $10,000 scholarship, $1,000 per spring to a deserving Madison/Middleton high school student.

Last Chance for PDQ Gift Cards!

Last Chance for PDQ Gift Cards!

Hello Fellow Rotarians,

Tomorrow will be your last chance to buy PDQ Gift Cards to give as holiday gifts to your loved ones, friends and service providers.  Don't forget that person who shovels your driveway, your hair stylist, your cleaning person, your assistant at work, etc.  I will have a large quantity of cards at the meeting tomorrow, so bring your cash or checks made out to the foundation.  If you can email me in advance the denominations you would like, I can have your order all ready for you.

Thank you to those of you who placed orders at a previous meeting.  Please bring your payment tomorrow.  Thank you for supporting your club with the purchase of gas gift cards!!!

Luis Amigo Request

Can you help?

This is a rather short notice to inform you that the MWT-M Board has given permission to Jeannine Desautels to “pass the hat” on Friday, December 18 for donations to the Luis Amigo Orphanage. In January, Jeannine will be traveling with Mary Van Hout to the Guatemala Orphanage. Friday will be our last meeting prior to their trip.

The Board approved to accept a donation from the Holman Rotary Club of $250 to purchase fabric for the orphanage’s sewing classes to make uniforms. The money collected Friday from our “pass the hat” effort will help supplement the $250 for fabric.

Please bring your spare cash. If you prefer to write a check, please make it out to: MWT-M Foundation and note on the memo portion of the check: Luis Amigo Orphanage.

Thank you for all you do for Rotary!

Ruth Domack, Board Secretary

Club Visioning
The visioning process is designed to help a Rotary club create its own vision and to discover for itself the steps necessary to achieve that vision. The result is unique to each club because this is not a vision decided by the Rotary District or by Rotary International. The result is a vision designed and endorsed by the club’s own members.

By the end of this process, each club will have a clear vision of the following:
  • What the club stands for in the community;
  • The club’s target membership size in five years;
  • Identification of the club’s attributes;
  • Top three objectives for each avenue of service; and
  • Ways to improve the club’s leadership development.

The key thing to remember is that this visioning process is designed to make sure that it is the club members who are providing the input and deciding the goals, objectives, and action steps that they want to take in order to realize the vision that they have created for themselves as a Rotary Club in their community.
