Rotary Friendship Exchanges – New Friends Available in Every Corner of the World

Rotarians from one District visit Clubs in a distant District, staying with Rotarian families and getting a feel for life in another culture. Recently our District 6250 has hosted a group from Latvia and Sweden.

Jim went to Nepal in 2016 with the goal of helping local Clubs better their chances of getting RI grants. And he survived the world’s most dangerous road. Jim also went to Australia in 2015.

Mary Van Hout talked of her 2011 Friendship Exchange to England, with interesting scenics. She also sent to Lagos Nigeria in 2014, a land filled with bright colors. They visited a number of schools and talked about Climate Change. In 2017, she visited India on another Friendship Exchange, staying in three different communities. There they addressed the issue of safe housing for girls.

Dean Ryerson was in India with Mary and spoke about the impact of Polio Plus.

District 6250 Rotary Foundation's Annual Fund SHARE

District 6250 Rotarians and Clubs contributed  $422,946.92 to our Rotary Foundation's Annual Fund SHARE program in 2017-18.  Together, we exceeded our $325,000 goal by 30%.  In addition, District 6250 Rotarians contributed an additional $200,315 to other annual funds such as Polio Plus and endowments.  Please share this achievement with your clubs and pass along the appreciation of every District 6250 leader.  The final Monthly Contributions Report for 2017-18 is attached.

This year our District Foundation Committee's Annual Fund will be lead by Dave Warren, who served as District Foundation Chair the last two years.  We are swapping roles as I become the District Foundation Committee Chair.

We look forward to working with our Clubs to continue the tradition of generosity from District 6250 Rotarians.  Your support for the Annual Fund SHARE program is the starting point to make our Rotary Foundation one of the highest impact organizations on earth.  Your leadership makes a world of difference!

We Need a Youth Exchange Officer

Our club has been participating in Rotary Youth Exchange for a long time.  I'm not sure exactly how long we have been involved.  I joined the club on 2-14-14.  Shortly after that, at my first district conference, I told Toni Pabon that I would help her out temporarily while she looked for someone else to take her place as YEC.  Needless to say, I fell in love with Youth Exchange and have been doing it ever since.
