Madison West Towne Middleton Rotary sponsors four kids each year. Kevin Welton does the leg work for our club in grand fashion…and the kids are the beneficiaries!
The Rotary Club of Madison West Towne-Middleton is proud to host Sophie Gelinek, inbound student from Germany (2nd from the left in photo). Sophie is 16 years old and will be arriving in Madison August 19. She lives in an old farmhouse in the mountains of the Black Forest region and is the 4th of 5 children. Sophie enjoys reading, skiing, and the outdoors. Her school is 25 km (15 miles) away and one of her favorite subjects is English! She is very excited about her Exchange in the US.
Dan Fose, Youth Exchange Officer, and Toni Pabon, Youth Exchange Counselor, are currently looking for one more host family. Her families need to live in the Middleton School District as she will be attending Middleton High School. If you or someone you know is interested in hosting Sophie for 3-4 months, please contact us.
The next board meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 15th at 7:00 a.m. at 901 Deming way, Suite 201 (Sustainable Engineering Groups offices). The office is on the second floor directly facing the stairs and almost directly across from the elevator. The meeting room is just inside the entrance.
Directions: 901 Deming way is close to Old Sauk Rd just outside the beltline. If you are coming from the beltline, take a right on Heartland trail (about 0.5 miles from the beltline), then a left onto Deming way and 901 Deming way is the second driveway on your right. Let me know if you have any questions about how to get there or anything else.
