Annual Rotary International Dues (per member) $72.00
Annual Rotary District Dues (per member) $40.00
Annual Madison West Towne-Middleton Rotary Club Dues (per member) $68.20
Total $180.20 / 4 = $45.05
Meals: Active Regular
For fiscal year 2013 – 2014 Active Regular members will be billed as detailed below. We have 47 meetings per year. We bill for meals for 49 meetings per year (47 meetings that occur and 2 Dark Friday meetings). Dark Friday meetings during fiscal year 2013 – 2014 were November 29, 2013 and December 27, 2013. The meal charges we collect for the two Dark Friday meetings are a little over $500 per Dark Friday. When the 2013 – 2014 budget was approved by the Board, the Board approved a $1,000 donation to The Rotary Foundation with the $1,000 being covered by the meal charges collected for the two Dark Friday meetings. The weekly charge, per meal, per member is $11.50. As a reminder our fiscal year runs from July 1 through June 30th, thus the first quarter of the fiscal year would be July, August & September.
Bill For 13 meals in quarter 1
$11.50 x 13 = $149.50
Bill For 13 meals in quarter 2
$11.50 x 13 = $149.50
Bill For 12 meals in quarter 3 *
$11.50 x 12 = $138.00
*In the 3rd quarter, there will be no club meeting on the Friday prior to the Spring Social
Bill For 11 meals in quarter 4 **
$11.50 x 11 = $126.50
**In the 4th quarter, there will be no club meetings on Good Friday and on the Friday prior to the District Conference.
Meals: Active Excused
Active Excused members are billed each quarter, only for the meals that they ate during the previous quarter. These members are also charged $11.50 per meal. The weekly member sign in sheet is the source for determining what meetings Active Excused Members attended during the previous quarter.
Example: An Active Regular member will be billed $45.05 for dues and $138.00 for meals ($183.05) for the 3rd quarter. Quarterly billing statements generally go out by the end of the 2nd month of the quarter thus 3rd quarter billings (January, February and March) for fiscal year 2013 – 2014, will be sent out by February 28, 2014.
"District 6250 is committed to creating and maintaining the safest possible environment for all participants in Rotary activities. It is the duty of all Rotarians; spouses or partners of Rotarians; and any other volunteers to safeguard to the best of their ability the welfare of and to prevent the physical, sexual, or emotional abuse of children and youth with whom they come into contact."
That is the first paragraph of our District's Youth Protection Policy which can be found on the District's website, under the "Study/Youth Programs" button. Every member should read the entire policy.
Every volunteer who will have one-on-one contact with any Rotary Youth must complete a Youth volunteer Application and pass a background check. The application is good for three years, but there must be an annual background check. Our Club pays the $11.50 fee for the background check.
Each and every incident of alleged abuse and/or harassment involving a Rotary Youth MUST be reported. Report to the Club Youth Protection Officer (YPO). This year Stuart Herro is the YPO. Anyone who feels they are in immediate danger should call the District's Youth Protection Hotline: 1-800-877-5864.
There are extensive policies and procedures in place to protect our youth and our Club. If we follow the guidelines, we will be covered by Rotary International's insurance coverage, which is better coverage than individual clubs can likely purchase.

President Barack Obama signed an omnibus appropriations bill in January that provides $205 million to support polio eradication in 2014, through the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and U. S. Agency for International Development.
The largest government donor to polio eradication, the U.S. has contributed more than $2.3 billion since the mid-1980s, when 125 countries were polio endemic and the disease afflicted 350,000 people annually. Today, only Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Nigeria are endemic, and in 2013, the combined incidence of polio in those countries fell to a record-low...
Sir Emeka Offor likes to describe himself simply: He is the son of a policeman, born in the small town of Kafanchan, Nigeria. It is a way of reminding himself of his humble origins. Offor – who worked his way up to become executive vice chair of the Chrome Group, a multibillion-dollar oil and gas conglomerate, and who founded the Sir Emeka Offor Foundation, whose mission is to create economic opportunities in Nigeria’s poor communities – prefers to let his work and philanthropy speak for him. And with his most recent gift of $1 million to PolioPlus, Offor adds another achievement to his story...
