I am looking for drivers for Best (Rotary Youth Exchange student) to get him to and from school/Rotary meetings. If you can help out with any of these dates please let me know ASAP. I now have to inform the school as to when he will be leaving for the meetings and it is helpful to let them know who will be picking him up and bringing him back. Thanks so much!
She dreamed of being a world famous artist, but her Dad said "artists don't make any money." So at the UW she majored in Interior Design instead. She loved her classes but didn't want to be an interior designer (go figure). But somehow through all the twists and turns of her career she managed to become a great marketer and an even greater Rotarian.

What was your most embarrassing moment as a realtor?
When asked about her most embarrassing moment as a realtor she remembered the key incident.
Once showing a house to a client she extracted the key from the key box hanging on the doorknob. She confidently jabbed the key into the lock only to have it break off as she turned it. Turning to the client she said "Gee they didn't teach what to do about this in realtor school."
So what happened?? "We went round the house and in the unlocked backdoor. Fortunately I only show country homes."

What was your worse moment as a Rotarian?
Mary Feldt was quick to remember being asked to be Sergeant at Arms by then President Otto Cordero. She was deathly afraid of public speaking but her respect of and encouragement from Otto won the day. The experience helped her overcome that fear and became one of her many, many Rotary high points. Among these are the Calgary International Convention, her Paul Harris award, Guatemala trips and bringing so many new members into our club.

What was your proudest achievement in school?
Bill Mowbray related that after kicking over the props in an elementary school drama production I pulled. myself together in high school. I was a trumpeter in the school's brass chorus. After playing the same piece for 3 years at the Wisconsin School Music Association Solo & Ensemble contest, we finally won first place with a perfect score.

What was your most memorable moment?
Answer: "I loved theater and getting to play one of the leads in Look Homeward Angel was the high point.”
Background info: There were two female leads in the play, Eliza the old mother nag of the protagonist or his beautiful young love interest, Laura. You know which one Mary played!!
P.S. There is much more to this story just ask her.

Dane County District Attorney Ismael Ozanne spoke on the negative effects on disciplining children with physical punishment. Research shows it can lead to long-term problems, despite its normalcy in the past. A century’s worth of research reveals that kids physically punished will more probably punish their own kids in the same way. And they’re more likely suffer from impaired mental health (like serious anxiety and depression), not to mention a greater chance of becoming wife abusers, drug users, and involved with the criminal justice system.
Born and bred in Madison, DA Ozanne has waged a serious campaign on this issue, including deferred prosecution when appropriate, broadcast advertising PSAs, establishment on No Hit Zones, Community Conversations, and a pair of focused conferences. Positive, non-violent parenting is simply better for the kids and society as a whole.

There will be a training session for grant management in Madison on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. I have already signed up and hope to see several club members on March 23rd.
If you plan on writing a grant with a total expenditure of over $5,000, I encourage you to register. The grant is rather long, and I want you to enhance your ability to obtain a grant by knowing the process and knowing what can be funded. You can register by going to rotary6250.org. The location will be sent to you.
Usually a club can get one grant per Rotary year from the District. If you have a grant request for $30,000 or more, this is submitted to the Rotary Foundation (the foundation of Rotary International). The District will assign you a mentor to write this grant.
Grants will be due in May. Please do not wait until the last minute or month to start.

This years basketball slam tickets have just arrived. We will be selling them for $10 each for the NCAA men's basketball tournament. Each ticket has 4 teams. The total score of those teams throughout the tourney determines the winner.
There will be 12 prizes: highest score to 10th highest and 2 lowest scores. So even if your teams bow out the first day, you still could be a winner.
We will be making $7 per ticket sold! We have 600 tickets and need to SELL EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM! We CAN order more if needed.
This year if you have tickets that are unsold, it will cost us $3.00 each! We do not want to pay $3 each, so sell, sell, sell. ALL STUBS must be turned back in!
Tickets will be at the meeting tomorrow. TURN IN BY AND NO LATER THAN MARCH 3! Please turn in tickets as they are sold.
Thank you in advance for participating in this club fundraiser.
