March 5, 2021 -- Geologist Eric Carson will tell the fascinating story of how the last glaciation in the Baraboo Hills came to be and formed a colossal glacial lake which created Devils Lake and caused a catastrophic flood as the glacier retreated. Ever wonder how those behemoth obelisk stones surrounding Devils Lake developed? You'll find out. Remember Eric met us at the Pope Farm and explained the geographic structure there.

Jim Olmsted runs the speaker program. He’s provided us with a range of interesting speakers over the last few years, both flesh-and-blood and virtual. But Jim’s fertile mind could use some assistance in coming up with program topics and contacts. Who do you know that could present us with an interesting program … hobbies, company insights, sports, hunting, crazy collectors, you name it. The only exclusions are politics and speakers that just want to sell us something. Think about the people you know … neighbors, old/new friends, people at your office or social club. Do your ruminating and then send an email to Jim at jolmsted7562@gmail.com
Lizzie Gietman has joined our Club. She’s a realtor with Spencer Real Estate Group and is already getting herself involved in activities. Give her a Zoom wave at our next meeting.
Dan left for sunny Florida a number of years ago but has returned to our sunny climes. He’s living in Middleton and will be joining one of our upcoming Zoom meetings.
For decades, the Club’s Board Meetings have been held at 7 am on the third Tuesday of the month. Of course, since last spring, they’ve been virtual Zoom meetings. But El Presidente Steve Aune has led the push to move them to a friendlier time. So starting with April’s meeting, they’ll be held at noon on the third Wednesday of the month. If you’re not on the Board, you’re still welcome to stop in and see how the Club operates. Drop me an email and I’ll send you the link.
