Recruiting for Silent Auction 2021 Committee Members

Our silent auction committee had great success this year but in anticipation of an increased goal in 2021, we need a few more committee members to join us. Leo and Abby could use some help in getting out to the community’s shop owners for donations including more golf courses for foursomes and golf swag.

Ruth could use a couple of data entry people to help streamline the on-line auction set-up process. Deb and Jeannine need additional “creative types” to help create and wrap baskets and take pictures of the finished product.

Email your interest to any committee member. Thank you for your support!

MWTWR Hits National Press

I know you NEVER imagined it would happen, but our Club merited mention in the Sept/Oct issue of Driving Digest in a nice article about our very own Mary Ruth Marks. Our volunteer work at her event at Notara Farms is mentioned. Congrats to our Steel Magnolia. For more insights into this unique equine sport, check out http://www.drivingdigest.com/about-us

Program Ideas

Jim Olmsted runs the speaker program. He’s provided us with a range of interesting speakers over the last few years, both flesh-and-blood and virtual. But Jim’s fertile mind could use some assistance in coming up with program topics and contacts. Who do you know that could present us with an interesting program … hobbies, company insights, sports, hunting, crazy collectors, you name it. The only exclusions are politics and speakers that just want to sell us something. Think about the people you know … neighbors, old/new friends, people at your office or social club. Do your ruminating and then send an email to Jim at jolmsted7562@gmail.com

An Update from our Recent Inbound Student Goodness Otun

I know It has been a long time I have sent a mail, online school and adjusting to a pandemic has take up most of my time. So many months have passed by in a blur and 2020 keeps bringing in new surprises.

How are you doing? How are you adjusting to the pandemic? I miss you so much and there is no day I don’t look at my jacket/flag and think of you (my family) back in America.

My update on my life:
Done with online school for the semester, about to write my finals and after that, I will be a junior in college!! (So excited). My aunt died in April of stage 4 breast cancer and that took a big turn for my family and me because the death of a loved one is never forgotten, I think of her a lot cuz the littlest things remind of me of her. I am glad I got to spend part of her final weeks with her.

I am officially 18!!! Though it was months back (May), pls if you wished me happy birthday on any social media platform apart from Instagram and Snapchat then I am so sorry because I have left all others. I am mostly reached on my mail, IG or Snapchat. [email is otun_goodness@yahoo.com]

I will keep saying this and I say this to people when the conversation pops up that I made the right decision on doing an exchange because I met wonderful people I can call family even though it was for a short year.

I love you and miss you so much and hope you take care of yourselves.
