Helping Mothers Survive - Essential Care for Labor and Birth

Final Report on GG1876079: Accepted

Dear members of Rotary,

Thank you for submitting the final report on this project. We have reviewed it and accepted it. We hope that the midwives that received training through this grant will go on to train other midwives so that the project can go on for a long term impact and help decrease the high maternal and child mortality rate in rural Guatemala.

We commend you for implementing this project in spite of the roadblocks created by the pandemic and will close this grant once the unused funds are received at headquarters and are  processed by our Finance Department. Once again, thank you!

---------------------

Sincerely/ Atentamente,

Maria Eugenia Emig

Need $4,800 More

One of the major activities of the Lussier Community Education Center is the Food Pantry and we learned the Center lost one of their upright freezers recently and are in need of replacing it as-soon-as-possible. Since funding is always an issue, the Center would be happy to receive any funds people would like to send their way. Also, if any members reading this have any connections to getting a replacement freezer, please contact Shawn at (608) 833-4979. She would be glad to hear from you. Lussier’s mailing address is: 55 S. Gammon Rd., Madison, WI 53717.

Monthly Board Meetings

Our normal Board meeting is on the third Wednesday of the month at noon.

All members are welcome to attend to see how the Club operates. If you let the Secretary (jack46ferreri@gmail.com) know ahead of time, he can send you an agenda. These days, we’re meeting at Kathy Roberg’s Presidential Cabana at (Harbor House Condominium) 802 Harbor House Drive (which is right off Watts Road).

Live Club Meetings are Here

The meeting place is Serendipity Labs, a co-working facility on the 6th floor of the Johnson Bank Building at 525 Junction Road Madison, WI 53717 (right next to Panera Bread). We’re in the SOUTH TOWER. Parking is easy and undercover. We’re doing this on a month-to-month basis right now, but it may lead to a long-term arrangement.

For parking, follow the blue arrow on the map to underground parking. Go left once you enter the ramp. Parking is free; park in any unassigned spot. Go to the covered walkway to enter the building and grab the elevator to the sixth floor.
