Tomorrow’s program will focus on committee sub-meetings. Incoming Pres Steve Aune has been supercharging committee chairs on making things happen, so it should be an informative get-together.
President Dawn Frank sent out an email to Club membership. I reprint it here.
The Club Board has approved the following proposal to be presented to the membership.
In an effort during the pandemic to support local business and help some people in need, we are asking members, on a voluntary basis, to be billed for their weekly lunches while we are meeting remotely. We would pay TnT Catering, which in turn would use the money to prepare and serve lunches to recipients who are in need. TnT would keep their normal profit and use the rest to prepare as many meals as funds would allow. We have not yet identified the entity that we would donate to, because we want to see if we would have enough participation to make this work. Rest assured it would be a worthy group in Middleton, possibly first responders. We would print flyers indicating that the Madison West Towne Middleton Rotary club is providing this service, which will give us some local recognition. We would continue this until we are able to gather again in person.
If you are willing to participate, please let Kevin Moran know via email (). Thank you for your consideration.
Keep an eye (and ear!) out for Rotary ads on TV, radio, and in print that show our members as People of Action. The campaign aims to build awareness and understanding of Rotary and highlight the commitment we have to make a difference in communities around the world. The PSA’s have received significant distribution already – with more than $2.6M in donated media value since the launch in March. Visit the People of Action Toolkits page on the Brand Center to view the materials that have been shared with media outlets nationwide.
To make sure your community is involved in the campaign, contact the PSA Directors at your local media outlets and ask them to take action by including our Rotary public service announcements in their programming.

For years, led on by the powerful calves of Jerry McAdow, several riders have been bicycling together on Saturday mornings for exercise, for companionship, and for the sense of adventure. We’ve asked Club members to support our efforts by pledging dollars to our Club’s Foundation. It’s an important Club fundraiser. In the past, we’ve talked about cents per mile, but this year we’re going to simplify things by asking for pledges in the amount of $50, $100, or $250. Because several of our other fundraisers may be in some jeopardy because of the coronavirus, this is your chance to give a boost to the Foundation’s coffers. We’re gonna ride no matter what!
Contact person for this event is Jack Ferreri (jack46ferreri@gmail.com). Please take a look into your wallets and see what you can contribute to help support this event and our Club in general. We’re doing our first group ride together this Saturday, June 13, 2020. Please let me hear from you on pledges. We’ll send invoices out for your pledge at the end of the bicycling season, probably November. Help make this fundraiser a successful boost to our Foundation in this challenging time. Note next article on the loss of GNF Bingo.
