Unanticipated Funding Requests

Unanticipated Funding Requests

At the January 22, 2016 Club Meeting, President Derek Moehring presented Club Members with a copy of the “Unanticipated Funding Requests Worksheet” and had the following comments.

When the Board approved the budget for Fiscal Year 2015 – 2016, they felt that it was important to have some funds set aside for funding project support requests that would come along during the course of the year (after the budget for Fiscal Year 2015 – 2016 was already approved and in place). In the past, when an unexpected project support request was presented to the Board, the Board would not have the funds necessary to fund the request and would need to take a pass on that request (often times suggesting the request be presented for funding in the following fiscal year). For Fiscal Year 2015 – 2016, the Board set aside $17,000 for Unexpected Funding Requests.  At the same time, the Board adopted the “Unanticipated Funding Requests Worksheet”. This worksheet sets forth the requirements for requesting access to the $17,000. When it was determined that the TOGO Global Grant project was not going to go forward this year, the $1,500 in the budget for that project was reallocated to the Unexpected Funding Requests fund, thus increasing the fund to $18,500.  In December 2015 the Board approved earmarking $500 of this $18,500, for a new storage shed at Pope Farm Park. Currently there are $18,000 available for Unanticipated Funding Requests for the remainder of Fiscal Year 2015 – 2016 (ending June 30, 2016).

For questions on this subject, please contact any Board Member or contact our President, Derek Moehring, or our Treasurer, Dean Ryerson.

MWT-M Book Club (Team 2)

MWT-M Book Club (Team 2)

The original MWT-M Book Club has been meeting for several years but not taking any new members due to club size. Therefore, about two years ago a few members started a second MWT-M Book Club. We meet every other month, usually a Tuesday evening at 7pm and end around 8:30pm. In January we discussed "These Is My Words" by Nancy E. Turner. Our next meeting is scheduled in March and we will discuss "Being Mortal" by Atul Gawande. In May, we will discuss "Killing Lincoln" and in July, "The Witches" by Stacy Schiff. We rotate our meeting location which is held at one of our homes.

If you like to read and would like to participate in our lively discussions, please consider joining. You may contact any one of our members: Char Breunig, Deb Dieter, Ruth Domack, Bill Hinckley, Paul Patenaude, Susan Prest.

Our monthly bingo session at Oakwood, off of Mineral Point Road, is every third Thursday of the month from October through May. The next two sessions will be on February 18th and March 17th (St. Patrick’s Day).  We need four (4) Rotarians per session. The sign-up sheet will be circulating around the tables during the next several Friday noon meetings.  Time commitment is from 6PM to 7:30PM, and working qualifies as a make-up.
So please sign-up.

Want to Play Cribbage?

CRIBBAGE PLAYERS:
I am a beginner cribbage player and would like to get better.  I am wondering if there are a couple of Rotarians who know how to play cribbage who would like to play more and teach a beginner along the way?
If so, please contact me and we will see about meeting and playing.  My home is available.
