Bob Ceder of Democracy Found will explain the Final Five Voting proposal for Wisconsin, including how a top-five primary and ranked general-election ballot would work, the goals its advocates hope to achieve, and what the proposed change could mean for voters.

What if Wisconsin changed the way candidates advance from the primary and how voters choose among finalists in the general election? Bob Ceder of Democracy Found will join Madison West Middleton Rotary to explain Final Five Voting and how the proposed election system would work.

About the Program

Final Five Voting combines two changes to the traditional election process: a top-five primary, in which candidates appear on a single primary ballot and the five candidates receiving the most votes advance, and an instant-runoff general election, in which voters may rank the finalists in order of preference.

Bob Ceder is a retired business executive and volunteer presenter for Democracy Found, an organization advocating for adoption of Final Five Voting for federal elections in Wisconsin.

Bob will explain how the proposed system operates and discuss Democracy Found's case for changing the incentives facing candidates and elected officials. The program provides an opportunity to learn more about the proposal and ask questions about how it would affect the voting process.

Madison West Middleton Rotary is hosting this program as an educational presentation and does not endorse political candidates, parties, or positions.
