Verona Miracle League
Explore the Project
Take a closer look at the vision for an accessible Miracle League baseball facility in Verona and the community partnership working to make it possible.
The Vision
Removing Barriers to the Game
Traditional baseball fields were not designed around the needs of players who use wheelchairs, walkers, or other mobility devices. Physical, cognitive, and developmental disabilities can also create barriers to participating in conventional baseball programs.
The Miracle League was founded around a powerful idea: Every Child Deserves a Chance to Play Baseball.
The Verona project is being developed to expand Miracle League opportunities in Dane County and create another accessible location where players and families can experience the game in a welcoming, supportive environment.

A First Look at the Verona Miracle League
These preliminary concept renderings provide a first look at how the Verona Miracle League could come together — creating an accessible baseball destination designed around players, families, volunteers and the community.
Concept plans and renderings are for illustrative purposes only. Final design, features, dimensions, site configuration and amenities remain subject to change and final approval.
Designed for Inclusion
A Facility Built Around Players & Families
The current concept brings together an accessible baseball field with supporting spaces intended to make the entire experience more welcoming for players, families, volunteers and spectators.
The Location
Why Verona?
The proposed project is being developed in partnership with the Verona Area School District on district property in Verona.
A Verona location would complement the existing Miracle League field in Cottage Grove while expanding geographic access for families in Verona, Madison, Middleton, Fitchburg, Mount Horeb and surrounding communities.
The Experience
More Than Baseball
The vision extends beyond the physical field. The goal is to create a place where players can experience the excitement of stepping up to the plate, crossing home, celebrating with teammates and hearing family and friends cheering from the stands.
Play
Create more opportunities for children with disabilities to experience baseball in an accessible and supportive environment.
Belong
Bring players, families, buddies, volunteers and neighbors together through shared experiences and friendships.
Celebrate
Create a place where every hit, every run, every friendship and every trip across home plate is worth celebrating.
Connect
Create another gathering place where families and communities from throughout Dane County can come together.
Long-Term Vision
Built to Serve Generations
The goal isn't simply to raise enough money to build a field. Responsible planning means considering what happens after opening day.
Construction
Funding the design and construction of the accessible field and supporting facilities.
Maintenance
Planning for ongoing upkeep, repairs, replacement needs and responsible facility stewardship.
Operating Reserve
Establishing resources intended to support responsible operation of the facility and unexpected future needs.
Endowment
Developing a long-term funding strategy designed to help sustain the facility for future generations.
Project Leadership
A Community Partnership
Rotary clubs throughout Dane County are collaborating with community partners to help move the Verona Miracle League project forward.
A new Dane County Rotary-affiliated nonprofit foundation is being established to support the project, hold the appropriate long-term site rights and provide facility stewardship.
The Verona Area School District is a key project partner. The current plan also anticipates Miracle League of Dane County operating baseball programming through a separate agreement.
Organizational responsibilities, agreements and operating details remain subject to final approval.

The Campaign
Step Up to the Plate
Bringing the Verona Miracle League to life will require support from individuals, families, businesses, foundations, Rotary clubs, service organizations and community partners throughout Dane County and beyond.
Support for the project is intended not only to help create the facility, but also to contribute to responsible maintenance, operations and long-term sustainability.
